Upload Shapefile

A shapefile is comprised of a collection of files, one of which has a .shp extension. It is used to model Geospatial information with vectors. These vector features can include points, lines and polygons. Additionally each feature can have attributes that enhance the data. For example a point for a town can be labeled with the town’s name and population.

Climate Engine allows you to upload shapefiles to outline custom regions. Inside the “Region” drop down menu, Under the “Make Graph” tab, you can select either Custom Polygon from Table Asset or Custom Polygon from Shape File.

Please note that .shp, .dbf, .shx, .prj extensions are required as part of the zipped shapefile to be displayed and analyzed within Climate Engine.
